Therapy Isn't a Boss Battle.
It's a Co-Op Mission.

Your brain isn't broken. The old model of therapy is.

You've probably had the therapist who nods a lot but doesn't seem to really get it. The one who makes you feel like you're being evaluated instead of helped. The one who treats your brain like a problem to fix instead of a system to understand.

That's not us.

At Enlitens, we're neurodivergent-affirming specialists in St. Louis who actually get it—because we live it, too.

We know that you are the undisputed expert on your own life. Our role isn't to be the hero of your story; our role is to be your dedicated, highly-skilled co-op partner. We bring the map, the gear, and the strategy guides. You bring the knowledge of your own terrain. Together, we navigate the levels you've been stuck on.

To be a guide at Enlitens, you have to be more than just licensed. You have to be a rebellious academic—someone who questions the systems that have failed so many of us. You have to be a neurodivergent-affirming specialist with a deep, evidence-based understanding of how brains actually work. And you have to believe, fiercely, that the system is broken—not the people it fails.

Liz Wooten, LPC
Founder & Lead Brain-Navigator

Liz didn't set out to build a therapy practice. She set out to find one that didn't make her feel like a broken science experiment. When that didn't exist, she built it herself.

As the founder of Enlitens, Liz is the architect of our entire clinical philosophy. Her background spans psychology, counseling, and criminal justice with an emphasis on rehabilitation—which means she understands how punitive systems fail people, and she's dedicated her career to building something better.

Her approach is a direct reflection of her own AuDHD brain: it is fast, intuitive, and deeply pattern-oriented, allowing her to see the connections that others miss.

She combines this lived experience with a relentless pursuit of knowledge, including her current master's work in Neuroscience at King's College London—home to one of the world's top-ranked programs in the field. She's not just a therapist; she's a systems-builder, a passionate advocate, and the guide who's been exactly where you are.

Questions About Our Team

That's a fair question. The card is a rebellious summary, not the whole story. The detailed, traditional information you're looking for, including specific licensure, educational background, and a full professional history, is located on each guide's full, dedicated bio page, which is linked directly from their card. We believe in both personality and professionalism. Read Liz's full bio and professional history here.

It has everything to do with our approach. The "spaghetti policy" scene is a perfect example of radical self-advocacy. We use humor and pop culture as tools because they are a shared language that can make the intimidating work of therapy feel more accessible and human. It signals that we're real people who believe profound truths can be found in unexpected places. Learn more about how we use metaphors in therapy.

Not at all. It means we reject the old, broken model where a therapist passively nods while you struggle. In our co-op mission, you are the expert on your lived experience—you bring the knowledge of the terrain. Your guide is the specialist with the map and the gear—they bring the clinical expertise and the specific strategies. It's an active, collaborative partnership. Learn more about our active, "workshop" approach.

It's a nod, but it's not a joke. In gaming culture, "LVL 99" signifies the pinnacle of skill and mastery. We use it as a rebellious and accessible way to signify deep expertise in the field of neurodivergent care, in a language that feels more empowering and less intimidating than a long list of acronyms. Learn why a specialist, not a generalist, is so critical.

That's the exact reason we are building a team. Our collaborative model means that while you will have one primary guide, that guide has access to the specialized knowledge of the entire team. You get the benefit of a deep, trusting relationship with one person, supported by the collective expertise of everyone. See all our areas of focus here.

That's a practical and important question. While Liz is responsible for the vision of the practice, her primary passion is direct client work. She intentionally structures her role to ensure that working with clients in both assessment and therapy remains a central part of her job.
